I know life can be hard, unfair, and painful. I know we carry stuff and I know we can suffer. I have walked my own path of healing, with Heart, Courage, and Action, and have achieved the change I desired. Together, and through the therapeutic process, we will bring improved mental health and wellness to your life.

Through the first few sessions you and I will build connection and attunement, planting the seeds of relationship and trust. Through curiosity and exploration, we will come to understand what it is that is bringing distress, disturbance, pain, suffering and chaos to your path.
As we work along your path we will put together a treatment plan that best suits your specific needs to improve your mental health and wellness. We will reduce the distress you are experiencing, improve functioning, and give you the knowledge, skills and tools needed to have the fulfilled life you desire.

Anxiety can be debilitating. Anxiety can bring incredible discomfort and distress that over time have lasting emotional, physical, and social consequences. Anxiety can be sneaky and insidious in activating our alarm (limbic) system. At Haydon Wellness I immediately put together a coping skills tool kit for you to increase grounding and mindfulness. We will work to uncover the underlying issues that fuel the anxiety. We will pull from CBT, Mindfulness, and Somatic counselling modalities to help you become more aware of your thoughts and feelings and less attached to them. We will work to empower you over your anxiety and toward your mental health and wellness goals.
Managing and coping with depression is exhausting. Depression can come with a lot of weight. At Haydon Wellness we will work to uncover the underlying causes for your depression and develop healthy coping skills for you. We will work to understand your thoughts, feelings, behaviours, and physiology related to the depression, get you consistently accessing healthy coping strategies and mechanisms to increase your self-esteem and sense of control over your life..
In life we have loss. It is inevitable. For those of us who have lost a loved one or suffered a significant loss event, we know the suffering that arises. Shattering. Excruciating. Unresolved, untended grief can have down stream consequences. When the grief arises I will hold your space with empathy and compassion. We will work together to help you identify and express your feelings in healthy ways while developing your coping skills toolkit and manage the emotions that come with grief. In time it is my hope we can find meaning in your loss. I found mine.
Trauma happens in life. It can shatter us. It can freeze us in time. It can be crippling and terrifying. If you have been through Trauma you know the pain and distress. At Haydon Wellness we will gently explore your thoughts and feelings and behaviours around your Trauma. We will use compassionate CBT to help you cope, contain, and challenge untimely, difficult, distressing thoughts that arise from your Trauma. We will help you process the Trauma, develop coping skills and reduce any Trauma related symptoms you may be experiencing. Together we will move toward healing.
Men, lets talk about it all. Men face unique challenges in our society and culture around mental health and wellness. Society conditions men to be unemotional and "strong" at all times; that authentic expression of feelings and vulnerability is a sign of weakness. To have mental health and wellness challenges is a sign of failure for a man. None of this is true and all these faulty beliefs come at tremendous cost to men. As a man who carried a lot for a long time, I have found a way for men to tap into their true essence, to find the understanding, healing and growth, and actively move toward the life they desire.
Stress is a huge contributor to poor mental health and our overall wellness. Stress left unaddressed can have significant down stream consequences across multiple areas of our lives. To reduce stress we must first become aware of all of our stressors. It is easy for us to identify the significant stressors in our life, they are life billboards that hit us in the face. More challenging is to identify the numerous hidden stressors that unconsciously impact our mental health and wellness. As we move through the therapeutic process we begin identifying your stressors, reducing them and bring you greater ease in life.
